The brief descriptions below are designed to familiarize you with our staff's training, professional credentials and work experience.

Hugo Chavez

Dr. Hugo Chavez is originally from Peru and obtained his D.D.S. in 1985 from the Peruvian University Cayetano Heredia. He practiced General Dentistry with emphasis in orthodontics from 1985 to 1987 and also worked as volunteer in the Peruvian Cancer National Institute. From 1987-1988 Dr. Chavez participated in the Program of Oral & Maxillofacial Prosthetics of Roswell Park Memorial Institute in Buffalo, New York. Dr. Chavez learned about the prosthetic rehabilitation of patients with post oral cancer surgery and the management of oral complications of patients undergoing chemotherapy and head & neck radiation. In 1991, Dr. Chavez obtained his Master Degree in Oral Sciences from the State University at Buffalo, New York and the same year he moved to Florida to practice general dentistry. Dr. Chavez is practicing as a solo practitioner in Orlando, Florida for the past 10 years. He is member of several Associations including the American Dental Association and the Florida Dental Association. He looks forward to practicing dentistry and in doing so helping people to improve their dental and overall health.

ABOUT OUR STAFF

Our Staff is our best asset. We all combined have more than 50 years of experience in the dental field. Our front desk staff is trained to give you the best service including the handling of your dental insurance. Our certified dental assistants and hygienists are eager to listen to your questions and to make your experience very comfortable. We believe in pain free dentistry and in that you understand completely your treatment. For your convenience we also speak Spanish.

Dorene Morone

Doreen has been in our office since 2001. She has over 25 years in the dental field. As insurance coordinator, she is an expert in answering any question the patient may have about dental benefits. She discusses treatment plans with patients and handles financial options. She graduated from the Bryman Institute of Dental Assistant in New Brunswick, New Jersey. She is also a certified expanded duty dental assistant. She moved to Orlando in 1998 with her family from Texas.

Carmen Velez

Carmen Velez is usually the first smiling face you will see when you enter our office. As our front desk coordinator, she handles scheduling and front desk duties including insurance and treatment planning. She has been in the dental profession for over 17 years and joined our practice in 2004. Carmen is originally from Connecticut and moved to Orlando with her family in 2002.

Mayra Diaz

Mayra Diaz is from Puerto Rico and received her Dental Assistant Diploma and Expanded Duties certificate from the Southern College of Florida in 1992. Her training included an internship in the former Orlando Navy Base and private practices. She joined this practice in 1992. Cosmetic dentistry and patient education are one of her strongest assets.

Lina Cortes

Lina Cortes is originally from Colombia and obtained her D.D.S. in 2001 from the Autonoma University of Manizales, Colombia. Once she moved to the United States she obtained her dental hygiene license and has been working with us since 2006. She is very happy to be providing excellent care to our family patients.
